The Los Angeles Clippers pay a visit to the Houston Rockets tonight at the Toyota Center.
The Houston Rockets have bounced back from back to back losses with a couple of double digit wins on the trot after beating the Timberwolves by 113-102 on Monday. James Harden had himself a monster triple-double of 31 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists while Josh Smith added 17 points as the Rockets pulled away from the Wolves on a 57-46 second half performance. Dwight Howard remains out for the Rockets with his injury but it looks like Terrence Jones is starting to heat up now as he finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds in just his third game back from injury.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers had won four straight including wins over the Spurs, the Mavericks and the Rockets before falling to the Grizzlies on Monday by 90-87. With Blake Griffin out of the lineup, the Clippers have made a conscious effort to share the ball more, but agains the Grizzlies it was up to Chris Paul to shoulder the scoring and he poured in 30 points and 10 assists while Jamal Crawford added 15 points. Unfortunately, no other player even finished in double figures in scoring which is a recipe for disaster against a defensive team as good as the Grizzlies. In the end, the Clippers still had a shot to win it but CP3 mishandled a dribble and turned it over at the end of the game. With the loss, Los Angeles falls to 37-20 on the season which puts them half a game behind the fifth-placed Dallas in the Western Conference standings.
In ATS trends, the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in the last five games overall and 1-4 ATS in the last five road games, while the Rockets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games but just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the Clippers are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings and 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Houston.
The Clippers have won both meetings with the Rockets this season, including a 110-95 win at Staples Center on Feb. 11 so I can't see why they should be slight underdogs in this one, so I'm taking them with the free points here.
