The Detroit Pistons travel to the nation's capital to take on the Washington Wizards tonight.
The Detroit Pistons have split their last six games and will be looking to avoid a third straight loss after falling to the lowly Knicks by 121-115 in double overtime last night. Greg Monroe had a massive game of 28 points and 13 rebounds, Andre Drummond added 21 points and 15 rebounds and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 19 points, but it still wasn't enough to get past the Knicks who closed the double overtime period on a 9-4 run to get the win. With the loss, Detroit dropped to 23-35 on the season which leaves them one game behind four teams logjammed for the last spot in the playoff standings.

Meanwhile, things have just gone from bad to worse for the Washington Wizards as they head into this one off a sixth straight loss, their lastest by 89-81 to the lowly 76ers. Otto Porter Jr. had a decent game of 19 points while Ramon Sessions added 14 points off the bench, but the Wizards understandably leaned heavily on John Wall who had 21 points and 11 assists but finished with a miserable 7 of 26 shooting from the field. As a team, the Wizards shot an ugly 32.3 percent from the field which is just demoralising against a poor defensive team like the 76ers. With the loss, Washington drops to 33-26 on the season and 13-16 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Pistons are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games against a team with a winning home record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games, while the Wizards are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
Head to head, the Pistons are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Washington and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
Normally, I would be all over the Wizards to win and cover such a small spread at home, but they've just been playing some bad basketball lately and it's just hard to trust any team coming off a loss to the 76ers. Personally, I'll be staying away from this game, but if I had to choose I'd prefer a play on the Pistons with the points in this one.
