The Dallas Mavericks travel to the Moda Center to take on the Portland Trailblazers tonight.
The Dallas Mavericks have won four of their last six games overall and were able to snap a two-game skid on Monday with a 102-93 win over the Hornets. In a balanced scoring effort, Monta Ellis led the way with 20 points, Rajon Rondo added 19 and Richard Jefferson added 16 points as the Mavs battled with the Pelicans closely in the first half before breaking the game open in a 25-13 third quarter. Tyson Chandler missed his third consecutive game and his absence was again split between Bernard James and Amar'e Stoudemire. With the win, Dallas improved to 40-22 on the season which is currently good enough for sixth place in the crowded Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trailblazers have won eight of their last 11 games and are coming off their fourth straight win, beating the Clippers by 98-93 in overtime last night. LaMarcus Aldridge carried the bulk of the scoring load and had himself 29 points on 12 of 30 shooting while Damian Lillard had a rough shooting night of 1 of 13 shooting for just five points, so when it came to overtime, the Blazers turned to Nicolas Batum who delivered with three alley-oop assists to finish with 20 points and eight assists. With the win, Portland improved to 40-19 on the season and 15-13 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a winning record and 0-5 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record, while the Blazers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600 and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 Thursday games.
Head to head, the Mavs are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Portland.
I know the Blazers will be playing the second night of a back to back set, but they've been playing some of their best basketball lately and will still be pumped after such a thrilling road win last night.
