The Boston Celtics travel to the Smoothie King Center to take on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.
The Boston Celtics have won eight of their last 13 overall and were able to sneak past the Jazz in a 85-84 win on Wednesday. Isaiah Thomas led the team with 21 points and seven assists off the bench while Jae Crowder added 18 points, but with the game on the line and just 1.7 seconds on the clock, the Celtics chose to inbound the ball to Tyler Zeller who calmly made a nice post move and made the game-winning layup at the buzzer. With the win, Boston was able to avoid a third straight loss and improve to 24-35 on the season which keeps them within two games of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans were able to continue their quest for the last spot in the Western Conference with an 88-85 win over the Pistons on Wednesday. Tyreke Evans had a strong outing of 21 points and nine assists, but this game was all about Anthony Davis who returned from a five-game absence and absolutely stuffed the stat sheet with 39 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks. New Orleans has now won six of their last eight games to improve to 33-28 on the season which keeps them just half a game behind Oklahoma City who currently occupy the eighth spot in the Western standings.
In ATS trends, the Celtics are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall, while the Pelicans are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
The Pelicans played well to keep winning games in the absence of their best player and now that Davis is back on the court, they're going to make a serious run for the last playoff spot. As for this game, the Celtics got the better of the Pelicans in their only other meeting this season, but I'm sticking with the Pelicans at home where they've been money all season.
