The Memphis Grizzlies kick off a four-game road trip tonight with a meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Memphis Grizzlies have won three of their last four and are going for a third straight win after taking down the Lakers by 97-90 last night. Zach Randolph carried the majority of the scoring load and had himself a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebouds while Marc Gasol added 18 points as the Grizzlies overcame a rough shooting night and rallied to fight off the pesky Lakers at home. On paper, it looked like a matchup that should be easy pickings for the Grizzlies, but in each of the four meetings with the Lakers this season, the Grizzlies have had to battle and scrape their way to win by single digits. With the win, Memphis improved to 44-17 on the season and 24-7 at home.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have won six of their last eight overall but are coming off a 104-98 loss to the Celtics despite another big night from Anthony Davis who scored 29 points and 14 rebounds. Eric Gordon added 20 points with four treys but the Pelicans needed more from Tyreke Evans who scored just 11 points and committed seven turnovers. Defensively, the Pelicans just couldn't find a way to stop the newest Celtics player, Isaiah Thomas who scorched them for 27 points on eight of 13 shooting including four three pointers. With the loss, New Orleans drops to 33-29 overall which puts them one game behind Oklahoma City who currently hold the eighth spot in the Western Conference.
In ATS trends, the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Pelicans are 15-4 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 1-6 ATS in their last seven meetings overall and 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in New Orleans.
I was leaning slightly towards the Grizzlies in this one, but I'm fully on board with the Pelicans after seeing the one-sided ATS trends in their favor.
