The Detroit Pistons kick off a four-game road trip with a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
The Detroit Pistons will be eager to snap an ugly six-game skid tonight after losing to the Hornets by 108-101 on Sunday. Reggie Jackson had himself a nice game of 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Greg Monroe added 18 points and 11 rebounds while Andre Drummond had 16 points, but while the Pistons led by 62-54 at halftime, they just couldn't keep the scoring going as the Hornets put Michael Kidd-Gilchrist on Jackson and really turned the game around. The Pistons got dominated in a 30-17 fourth quarter and fell to 23-39 on the season, probably leaving them too much ground to make up to grab the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers haven't exactly been playing terrible basketball lately, but they haven't been winning either. In fact, they're coming off their fifth straight loss by seven points or less, falling to the Mavericks by 100-93 on Sunday. Carlos Boozer had a nice game of 17 points while Wesley Johnson and Jordan Clarkson added 15 points each, but while the Lakers fought hard to gain a lead of two points entering the fourth quarter, they just couldn't make the stops to get over the hump, allowing the Mavs' Monta Ellis to pour in 31 points with five threes. Like I said, the Lakers have really been competitive lately, but they just seem to fade right at the end of the game because they don't have a go-to player to turn to for the big play.
In ATS trends, the Pistons are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a loss and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games, while the Lakers are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the Pistons are 2-9 ATS int he last 11 meetings and 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Los Angeles.
I was looking to take the Lakers with the points in this one, but two points just doesn't feel like enough so I'm sticking with the Pistons tonight.
