The Philadelphia 76ers look for a rare road win when they visit The Time Warner Cable Arena to face the Charlotte Hornets.
The Philadelphia 76ers are still in a rebuilding mode and as a fan I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel as I don’t understand the strategy of the ownership. What I do see is a team that is being outscored 100-92 and is very young which usually spells trouble. The 76ers have dropped three of four following a 106-93 defeat at Washington as a ten point road dog. This wasn’t as close as the score with the Wizards getting outscored 31-13 in the final period and still winning by 13. Washington could not be stopped with a scorching hot 58% from the floor while Philly was held to under 40%. Ish Smith led the offense with 23 points on 11-17 shooting with Isaiah Canaan adding 18 points and six helpers on 7-12 including four bombs. Hollis Thompson was next in line with 16 points and another four threes while Nerlens Noel netted 14 points and grabbed ten rebounds.

The Charlotte Hornets and the Indiana Pacers squared off Friday with the winner having the upper hand for a postseason berth. At the final buzzer it was the Pacers who were in the driver’s seat with a 93-74 victory with the Hornets offense held to a combined 22 points in the second and third periods which quite honestly was embarrassing. Indiana sank shots at 43% and were 8-16 from beyond the arc while Charlotte was held to just 35% marksmanship including 4-18 on threes. Gerald Henderson paced the offense with 12 points and seven boards followed by Lance Stephenson, Bismack Biyombo and Marvin Williams with ten points apiece with Williams and Biyombo combining for 17 rebounds.
The Under is 5-0 in 76ers last 5 Saturday games while the 76ers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest with the under going 6-1 in 76ers last 7 vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Hornets are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record with the over going 4-1 in Hornets last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 while Charlotte are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Head to head Over is 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings in Charlotte. I can’t see Philadelphia winning this but with all the points they don’t have too although I can’t bet them…
