The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking for revenge tonight when they battle the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers will be completing a home-and-home series tonight and the Lakers will be hoping to avoid a second straight beatdown after they were steamrolled in a 106-78 defeat on Sunday night. Wesley Johnson led the Lakers with 16 points while Tarik Black and Jabari Brown added 10 points each, but it was never going to be enough against the Clippers who were simply ruthless.
USA TODAY Sports
Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 18 points, DeAndre Jordan added 16 points while Chris Paul had seven points with 15 assists, but I'm surprised that the starters even played more than 20 minutes because the Clippers were up by as many as 43 points before slowing down in the fourth quarter. There really isn't much to say about this game because it was never a case of who would win, but rather a case of margin of victory because the Lakers just don't have the roster to trouble the Clippers this season.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games overall, while the Clippers are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team below .400 and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the Lakers are 6-18 ATS in the last 24 meetings overall and 8-20 ATS in the last 28 meetings at the Staples Center as the road team.
The line for this game is massive, but the Clippers have had no problems dominating the Lakers in the last two meetings this season, winning by a combined total of 53 points so I'm sticking with the Clippers here.
