The Detroit Pistons host the playoff hopeful Indiana Pacers at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Friday.
The Indiana Pacers are in desperation mode as they try to chase down the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with four games remaining in the regular season. The Pacers have been helping themselves with three consecutive victories behind strong play at both ends of the floor. That trend continued in their 102-86 rout of the Knicks on the road Wednesday as New York was held to only 34.5% shooting while the visitors connected at 49% despite a 4-22 effort from beyond the arc. George Hill was the star with a contest high 20 points with six pulls and five helpers while CJ Miles tossed in 13 points. David West, Roy Hibbert and Luis Scola netted eleven points each with Hibbert grabbing eleven rebounds while Paul George chipped in with ten.

The Detroit Pistons will be watching the postseason and put a dent in the Pacers playoff plans with a win Friday. The Pistons had been red hot a few short weeks ago but fast forward to the present and the team has been struggling with one win in the last four times out. The Pistons are coming off of a 113-103 loss to the visiting Boston Celtics as a 14 point opening quarter had the team playing from behind the entire night. Detroit shot the ball well at 53.6% but the Celtics hung tough on 45% marksmanship and were 33-34 from the charity stripe to outscore the Pistons by 27 at the line. Andre Drummond led the offense with 22 points and 14 rebounds followed by a 21 point 15 assist performance from Reggie Jackson. Greg Monroe was next in line with 19 points and ten boards while Tayshaun Prince and Jodie Meeks added 15 and 13 points.
The Pacers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 Friday games and the under is 4-0 in Pacers last 4 Friday games while Indiana are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. For Detroit the over is 8-0 in Pistons last 8 home games and 5-0 in Pistons last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while the Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Head to head the over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings while the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Detroit. No line out but I’ll be looking at Indiana if the number isn’t crazy…
