Two of the worst teams in the West meet tonight as the Minnesota Timberwolves battle the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost their last eight games and looked particularly toothless in their 116-91 defeat at Portland on Wednesday. Andrew Wiggins had a real nice game of 29 points while Zach LaVine had 18 points and Kevin Martin had 17, but the Wolves were always playing in mud after the Trailblazers started the game hot and jumped out to a 55-36 game at halftime. With the loss, Minnesota falls to 16-62 on the season which is good for dead last in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers haven't been much better as they've only lost seven of their last eight and were beaten by the Nuggets by 119-101 on Wednesday. Jordan Clarkson continued his fine form with 21 points and nine assists while Ryan Kelly added 17 points, but with so many players missing for the Lakers, they were always going to struggle this season and Wednesday was no different. With the loss, LA drops to 20-58 on the season which is good for second last in the Western Conference and fourth last overall.
In ATS trends, the Wolves are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall, while the Lakers are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Wolves are 12-5-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings in Los Angeles and the road team is 20-7 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall.
You really couldn't feel confident betting on either team in this game because who knows what type of game you'll be getting. I'll definitely be staying well away from this one, but if I had to choose, I'd be taking the Lakers at home and just hoping that the crowd gets them over the line.
