The New Orleans Pelicans invade the Toyota Center to battle the Houston Rockets tonight.
The New Orleans Pelicans have won six of their last eight and kept their place in the playoff picture with a dominant 90-75 win over the Suns on Friday. Anthony Davis led the scoring with just 19 points while Eric Gordon added 15 points, but this win was all about defense and that's where the Pelicans dominated, holding the Suns to 35.3 percent shooting and just 34 points in the second half. With the win, New Orleans improved to 43-36 and kept hold of the eighth spot in the Western Conference, just above Oklahoma City who own an identical overall record.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets had won three straight before losing a home-and-home set to the Spurs capped by a 104-103 loss on Friday. Josh Smith led the scoring with 20 points, but fell victim to a strategy that sent him to the line 26 times where he made just 12 free throws. Missed free throws obviously hurt the Rockets on the scoreboard, but what it did was stop James Harden from making an impact during the game and limited him to just 16 points and 10 assists which wasn't enough in the end. With the loss, Houston dropped to 53-26 which amazingly dropped them from third place in the Western Conference all the way to sixth place.
In ATS trends, the Pelicans are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games against a team above .600 and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, while the Rockets are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games following a loss and 16-7 ATS in their last 23 home games.
Head to head, the Pelicans are 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Houston and 15-5-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings overall.
The Rockets will be looking to make up for their tough loss at home to the Spurs on Friday and should be good enough to bounce back and get over the line against the Pelicans in this one.
