The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Denver Nuggets tonight at the Staples Center.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the hottest teams in the league lately and they have a chance to build on their five-game win streak tonight after they beat the Grizzlies by 94-86 on Saturday. Blake Griffin and JJ Redick led the scoring with 19 points apiece while Chris Paul ran the show with 15 points and 14 assists as the Clippers moved into a three-way tie with Memphis and San Antonio for the No. seed in the Western Conference. There's definitely a bit of confusion as to what would happen if there was a three-way tie in playoffs standings, but all the Clippers need to know is that they need to win their last two games to give themselves the best chance.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have lost four of their last six games but are coming off a 122-111 win over the Kings thanks to a monster night from Kenneth Faried who poured in 30 points on 12 of 14 shooting. Wilson Chandler added 21 points while Randy Foye added 16 points as the Nuggets took full advantage of a Kings team missing their three best players in DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Darren Collison. With the win, Denver improves to 30-50 overall and 19-22 at home.
In ATS trends, the Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, while the Clippers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team below .400 and 0-4 ATS in their last four games at home.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles and the home team is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Clippers should win this game easily, but the bookies look to be giving the Nuggets a few too many points in this one, so I think the safer play is to take the Nuggets with the points tonight.
