The Los Angeles Lakers invade the Sleep Train Arena to battle the Sacramento Kings tonight.
The Los Angeles Lakers have lost six of their last seven games and will still be licking their wounds after losing to the Mavericks by 120-106 last night. Jordan Clarkson continued his hot streak with 26 points and six assists while Tarik Black chipped in with 10 points and 19 rebounds, but the Lakers were always going to struggle against the Mavs who shot a healthy 54.2 percent from the field. With Clarkson running the points, the Lakers have shown glimpses of scoring potential now and again, but the Lakers have been poor on defense lately and have allowed their last seven opponents to average 109.7 points. With the loss, LA drops to 21-59 on the season and 12-28 at home.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have lost eight of their last nine and are coming off a 122-111 loss to the Nuggets in George Karl's return to Denver. Omri Casspi led the way with 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while Ben McLemore added 20 points and seven assists, but the Kings just couldn't keep up with the Nuggets who shot 54.9 percent from the field and combined for 62 points in the second half. With players like DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay finished for the season, the Kings really needed to be better on defense to stay competitive against teams but they just had no answer for the Nuggets' Kenneth Faried who poured in 30 points on 12 of 14 shooting.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team below .400 and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 road games, while the Kings are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest.
Head to head, the Lakers are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings in Sacramento and 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
You really couldn't back either team with too much confidence in this one, so I'm actually going to take the score to go over the total in this one, because I can't imagine either team to be very good on defense with nothing to play for.
