The Portland Trailblazers visit the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Mavericks in the final game of the season.
It looks as if the Portland Trailblazers are playing out the string in preparation for the postseason. With nothing on the line the Trailblazers have dropped three in a row after a 101-90 defeat at Oklahoma City on Monday. The Blazers defended better then the numbers say with the Thunder held to under 41% accuracy but OKC turned 18 offensive rebounds and 13 turnovers in to 13 more looks at the basket to offset Portland’s nearly 46% marksmanship. Meyers Leonard paced the offense with 24 points on 9-17 shooting including 5-9 from distance. Joel Freeland followed with 16 points and five yanks with Chris Kaman netting 14 while Alonzo Gee and Damian Lillard combined for 21 points.

The Dallas Mavericks were heating up at the perfect time with three consecutive victories before falling at Utah 109-92 although nothing is on the line. Of more concern is Harris and Parsons have injuries and the team wants both at 100% for the postseason. I don’t think anything would have made a difference Monday with a 35 point second half doing the damage. The Jazz fired away at 50% with the Mavs countering with 41.5% but no explosive scoring. Jose Juan Barea was the top option with 18 points on 8-15 from the field with A’Mare Stooudemire and Charlie Villanueva netting 15 points on combined 13-24 marksmanship. Rajon Rondo followed with 13 points and five helpers followed by Al-Farouq Aminu with ten points and ten rebounds.
The Trail Blazers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 while the over is 5-1 in Trail Blazers last 6 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points. The over is 4-0 in Mavericks last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and is 5-0 in Mavericks last 5 overall and 5-0 in Mavericks last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. I’m not sure who is playing here so the trends mean little and I’d use caution when this line comes out…
