The Portland Trailblazers visit the Memphis Grizzlies for Game 1 at the FedexForum tonight.
The Memphis Grizzlies started the season winning 15 of their first 17 and looked to be a lock for a top-four seed in the Western Conference, but some inconsistencies crept into their game along with a couple injuries and they hit a few speed bumps before finishing at a respectable 55-27 on the season. Marc Gasol had another great season with averages of 17.4 points per game, Zach Randolph averaged 16.1 points while Mike Conley averaged 15.8 points. However, the x-factor for the Grizzlies was the addition of Jeff Green who really fit into the system right away and gives them another scoring option, something they've lacked in past seasons.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trailblazers were led by LaMarcus Aldridge who averaged 23.4 points and Damian Lillard who averaged 21.0 points, but just when things looked to be heating up for the Blazers, they lost Wesley Matthews to a season-ending injury which really hurts their chances of a deep playoff run. The Blazers will definitely need more production from Nicolas Batum who averaged just 9.4 points in the season and Arron Afflalo will definitely need to improve on his season scoring average of 10.6 points, because the Grizzlies match up well against the Blazers' top-two scoring options.
In ATS trends, the Blazers are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall, while the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Blazers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall but a healthy 11-5-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Memphis.
I'm expecting this series to go to at least six games, but I definitely have the Grizzlies advancing in this one. As for Game 1 of the series, this one should be close from start to finish but I have the Grizzlies pulling away late and grinding their way to a solid win at home.
