The San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers play game two of their playoff series Wednesday night.
The San Antonio Spurs shot just 36.6 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from the line in their game one loss. In the loss, Kawhi Leonard had 18 points and six rebounds while Tim Duncan had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Marco Belinelli chipped in 11 points off the bench and Danny Green had two assists. The San Antonio Spurs continued to pressure the Clippers throughout by making 10 threes, but they simply missed too many shots that they usually make. Of course, you expect the Spurs to make open shots, and for the most part in the defeat, they simply weren’t falling. You can expect a much sharper Spurs team that matches the home team’s energy in game two. The Spurs last four losses have come on the road.

The Los Angeles Clippers played a flawless game that included 51.3 percent shooting and 40 defensive rebounds. In the victory, Chris Paul led the charge with 32 points and six assists while Blake Griffin had 26 points and 12 rebounds. DeAndre Jordan grabbed 14 rebounds and Jamal Crawford dropped 17 points off the bench. The Los Angeles Clippers simply would not be denied in game one, as they made consistent shots and played incredible stretches of defense. However, I have to worry about the Clippers minutes, as the starters barely rested due to a lack of bench. Besides Crawford, the Clippers bench had just five points. The Clippers have won seven of their last eight home games.
The Spurs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Conference Quarterfinals games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss. The Clippers are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 Conference Quarterfinals games and 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 2 days rest. The underdog is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
The Spurs usually bounce back after a tough loss, and you have to expect them to make the shots they missed in game one. However, the Clippers just look dialed in and are actually getting a boost from the home crowd for once. In a toss up game, I'm looking for the Clippers to go up 2-0 in this series on their home court.
