NBA Player Updates 5/2: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
May 2, 2015
We’ve got just one game on the NBA Playoffs schedule tonight, but it’s a big one. Before we get set for tip-off, let’s check out some of the notable happenings and players from around the league.
Hawks-Nets: In last night’s lone game, the Hawks were able to summon their talents and bury the Nets, moving on to the second round of the playoffs with a 111-87 victory in Brooklyn last night. Atlanta wins the series 4-2; things had previously been tied at two games apiece before the Hawks won two straight.
Paul Milsap posted 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists in a huge effort here, while Kyle Korver added 20 points. He nailed six 3-pointers overall, with three of those coming in a decisive third-quarter run that turned a tight game into a blowout.
The Hawks will get little rest before the second round, which begins tomorrow against the Wizards.

Speaking of the Wizards, Garrett Temple was able to practice yesterday, and he’s confident that he’ll be able to play in the first game of the second round.
Temple is working his way back from a hamstring injury; he’s been out since March 9.
In other injury news, the Pistons’ Brandon Jennings has progressed to shooting flat-footed this week.
That’s a good sign for his return from a torn Achilles he suffered this past season. He should be good to go by the time training camp rolls around.
One other minor injury note: the Mavericks’ Chandler Parsons had knee surgery yesterday. The procedure was necessary to repair cartilage damage.
