The Memphis Grizzlies travel to the Oracle Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 today.
The Memphis Grizzlies made light work of the Trailblazers in the first round, beating them by 4-1 thanks to their patented brand of old-school basketball. Marc Gasol led the team with averages of 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, while Courtney Lee averaged 17.2 points on 66 percent shooting for the series and those two players will have to lift their production even more as Mike Conley is expected to miss more time with his facial injury. Beno Udrih and Nick Calathes will continue to share minutes in Conley's absence but the Grizzlies also need more production from Jeff Green who averaged just 9.2 points on 28.6 percent shooting which was just atrocious.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors were good enough to sweep the Pelicans in their first round of the playoffs thanks to contributions from just about everyone. Stephen Curry led from the front with averages of 33.8 points and 7.3 assists while his running mate in Klay Thompson averaged 25 points while shooting 48.5 percent from three-point range. However, the strength in the Warriors comes from their depth and everyone played their part, especially Draymond Green who was also a nightly triple-double threat with averages of 15.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists. Despite those impressive stats across the board, the Warriors didn't exactly dominate the Pelicans like I thought they would as two of their four wins came by single digits and one came in overtime, but it was still an impressive series sweep nonetheless.
In ATS trends, the Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in their last five Conference Quarterfinals games and 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games overall, while the Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on three or more days rest and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Golden State.
Conley's injury is a major loss for the Grizzlies because his on-ball defense and ability to run the offense is so important for his team, but even if he was playing, I'd still have the Warriors winning this series in six games. As for Game 1, I like the fully rested Warriors at home to hit the ground running and win by double digits.
These previews are completely pointless. What good is a preview if one guy is dead set that the Warriors win by double digits and the other is dead set that the Grizzlies keep it to single digits? That makes both your efforts a complete wash.
Because they are different people, both of whom have covered a ton of NBA over the years, different people follow different guys here so when i comes to the post season we try and give as many of our people's opinions as possible. If we all agreed on everything, it wouldn't be real or authentic, we leave that for the otehr guys who are just around to try and sell you something.
