The NBA Playoffs are back again tonight, with two great-looking matchups on the schedule in the coming hours. While we’re waiting on those, let’s check out our daily wrap-up and see who’s in the headlines.
Hawks-Wizards: This game will be a talking point for the next few days concerning rest time in the playoffs. The Hawks played well early in yesterday’s 104-98 loss to the Wizards in Atlanta, but ran out of steam en route to a 104-98 loss.
Bradley Beal was the hero here, posting 28 points on a sprained ankle. The Wizards are unbeaten so far this postseason, and boast an 8-1 record in this year’s and last year’s playoffs.
Atlanta was coming off a 36-hour layoff between Game 6 of the first round and Game 1 of the second; they were able to mount a 37-26 lead after the first quarter, but fell flat by the fourth.
Game 2 is tomorrow night in Atlanta.

Warriors-Grizzlies: Out West, the Warriors took care of business in Game 1 of their second-round series against the Grizzlies in Oakland.
Neither team was terribly dominant here, but Golden State ended up posting a 101-86 win at home to take a 1-0 series lead.
Stephen Curry managed 22 points and seven assists, and is reportedly going to win the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award--results which will be officially released today.
Klay Thompson put up 18 points and Draymond Green managed 16 of his own. It was the Warriors 21st straight win at Oracle Arena.
