NBA Player Updates 5/7: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
May 7, 2015
After two games last night, the NBA is taking an evening off. The league will be back to it tomorrow, however, with two more matchups on the schedule as we head into the weekend. While we’re waiting, let’s check out some of the notable players and headlines out there.
Cavaliers-Bulls: This Cavs-Bulls series is getting interesting, thanks to a victory by Cleveland last night. Without Kevin Love, LeBron James had to do the dirty work in a 106-91 win in Cleveland, evening the series 1-1 as the teams head to Chicago for Game 3.
James scored 33 points, while Kyrie Irving added 21 of his own. Perhaps it was all in James’ headband, which he brought back for the first time since March.
This was a big win for Cleveland, who was missing two starters in Love (injury) and J.R. Smith (suspension).
As for the Bulls, Jimmy Butler managed 18 points and Derrick Rose put up 14 points with 10 assists.

Rockets-Clippers: The Rockets-Clippers matchup is also getting pretty interesting, as that one’s tied 1-1 as well, thanks to a victory last night by the Rockets.
James Harden got into some early foul trouble here, but returned to score 16 of his 32 overall points in the fourth quarter alone, helping power Houston to a 115-109 win at home against the visiting Clippers in Game 2.
Dwight Howard added 24 points and 15 rebounds while Trevor Ariza had 15 points and 13 rebounds.
As a team, the Rockets made 42 of their 64 free-throws for a pair of franchise playoff records.
On the other side, Blake Griffin led L.A. with 34 points, but only eight of those came after halftime.
