Position: Shooting Guard
Career Stats: 11.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals
Strengths: Trevor Lacey is an athletic shooting guard with decent speed from end to end. Lacey is a terrific ball handler with a sweet crossover that creates space. Lacey can get his shot from anywhere on the court and can knockdown the NBA three. Lacey runs the floor well and is effective in transition. Lacey gets to the cup easily and can finish through contact. Lacey has quick feet and quick hands that make him an above-average defender. Lacey wants the ball in his hands late and isn’t afraid of the big moment. Lacey shot 74.4 percent from the free throw line. Lacey may be able to play point guard at the next level. Lacey defends without fouling. Trevor Lacey is a good kid with no off-the-court issues.
Weaknesses: Trevor Lacey lacks great size for his position and is a bit of a tweener. Lacey can be turnover prone at times and will sometimes settle for poor shots. Lacey will be 24 years old in October.
Projection: Trevor Lacey has the ability to fill it up on the offensive end and is a decent defender despite his smaller frame. However, Lacey’s lack of size will be the reason he’ll fall into that second round or undrafted range. Still, we’ve seen small guys carve out a nice career in the NBA, and Lacey has enough to like on the offensive end to where he should get a shot, drafted or not.
