The Miami Heat are in a comfortable position, as they already have an East contending roster when healthy and now have the 10th pick in the 2015 NBA draft to add to that talent. Goran Dragic is likely staying in Miami, as well as Luol Deng. So, that gives the Heat a starting lineup next season of Chris Bosh, Dragic, Deng, Hassan Whiteside and Dwyane Wade.
That allows Miami to gamble a little bit.

So, Frank Kaminsky is the pick I’d make if I were Pat Riley and company.
Scouts either love or hate Kaminsky. He doesn’t have great athleticism at all and can struggle posting up. However, Kaminsky has elite footwork, a high basketball IQ and can kill a defense due to his inside-outside game. I’m somebody who really thinks Kaminsky can thrive in the NBA, as he does a lot of things extremely well and it’s rare to have a seven footer who can shoot threes and is comfortable putting the ball on the floor.
Another reason I see Kaminsky ending up in Miami is the fact Pat Riley likes experienced players. Riley hates draft picks to begin with, but if he’s going to pick somebody, he wants a mature player, a winner and somebody who plays team basketball. Kaminsky spent four seasons with Wisconsin, doesn’t force the issue and won constantly, which includes a trip to the national championship last season. Kaminsky would fit right into this veteran locker room in Miami and wouldn’t have to be watched over.
The Heat could also use guys who space the floor and can knockdown perimeter shots, as they ranked 24th in the league last season with a 33.5 percent shooting percentage from deep.
Kaminsky is the ultimate team player and wouldn’t take away from anything the Heat have going right now. He doesn’t demand anything on the offensive end and would just add to things.
There’s really no risk for Miami with this selection given that the Heat already have a championship contending starting lineup when healthy. However, the potential is endless.
Kaminsky would be a home run selection for the Miami Heat.
