The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Golden State Warriors in game three of the NBA finals.
The Golden State Warriors were game one winners in overtime but had the tables turned on them in a 95-93 loss in OT. Steph Curry was hounded by Matthew Dellavedova in to a 5-23 night including a 2-15 night from beyond the arc for 19 points. Klay Thompson picked up some of the offensive slack with 34 points on 14-28 from the floor but he also struggled from long range on a 4-12 effort. Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes combined for 21 points with Green grabbing ten rebounds. The Bench wasn’t as productive as in the opener with five players combining for 17 points. The bottom line was Curry struggled to make shots while an 8-35 performance from beyond the arc was uncharacteristic.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were dismal in the extra session of the opener but made amends the second time around behind a monster triple, double performance from LeBron James. James scored 39 points with 16 rebounds and eleven assists despite hitting just 11-34 from the field. Timofey Mozgoz picked up some of the scoring slack with Kyrie Irving out with 17 points and eleven boards while JR Smith rebounded from a poor opener with 13 points and six helpers. Even though Dellavedova managed just nine points his defense was outstanding as he played Curry as tough as anybody in these playoffs. Of course the Cavs continue to live and die on LeBron and defense which won’t change going forward.
