NBA Player Updates 6/18: The Latest News from Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
June 18, 2015
Now that the buzz is beginning to fade from the Warriors’ epic title run in the NBA this year, we can start focusing on some of the other headlines from around the league. Let’s take a moment to visit some of the notable stories out there.
The Wizards’ Garrett Temple exercised his player option for next season this week. That option is worth $1.1 million.
Temple is coming off 3.9 PPG and 1.7 RPG in 2014-15.

The Bulls’ Jimmy Butler should have no shortage of attention during his restricted free agency this summer. He’s made it known that he would like to entertain short-term offer sheets during that process, however.
Butler can get a max five-year extension from the Bulls. He’s coming off 20.0 PPG and 5.8 RPG averages this past season.
This week, the Nets have put the word out that center Mason Plumlee is potentially available for trades, and they’re hoping to move him in order to get a better draft position this summer.
Plumlee’s statistical performance dive-bombed in the second part of the season, and it’s unclear exactly how much he’s worth at this point. During the playoffs, he posted an average of just eight MPG and shot just three times.
Speaking of potential trade bait, the new champion Warriors are trying to move David Lee this off-season.
Lee spent the majority of the 2014-15 campaign sitting on the bench, and played just 38 minutes in the six games of the NBA Finals.
The team says they’ll be working with Lee’s camp to try and find an amiable destination for all parties involved.
NBA Off-Season Schedule: Now that the season is over, we can spend the rest of our summer prepping for the 2015-16 campaign. Let’s check out a few key dates from the off-season period.
June 25: NBA Draft
July 1: Free Agency Period Begins
July 8: Moratorium Lifts
Early July: NBA Summer League
