The Seattle Storm look for a win to snap a three-game losing streak. The Seattle Storm are averaging 66.3 points on 40.6 percent shooting and are allowing 73.7 points on 41.8 percent shooting. Sue Bird is averaging 9.6 points and 5.1 assists while Crystal Langhorne is averaging 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds. Renee Montgomery is dishing three assists and Alysha Clark is grabbing 5.1 rebounds. The Seattle Storm don’t have a single double-digit scorer and are dead last in rebounds with 31.4. The San Antonio Stars look to build on their first win of the season which came Thursday night. The San Antonio Stars are averaging 69.3 points on 37.9 percent shooting and are allowing 78.4 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Jia Perkins is averaging 13.4 points and 2.6 rebounds while Kayla McBride is averaging 12.7 points and four rebounds. Sophia Young-Malcolm is grabbing 5.1 rebounds and Danielle Robinson is dishing 5.4 assists. The San Antonio Stars have struggled just as badly as the Storm early on, but they are coming off a win over the Mercury in which they shot 42.9 percent from the field and overcame 19 turnovers. The Stars need to play a cleaner game and be better on the defensive end if they’re going to build on their first victory of the year.
The Storm are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Stars are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Storm are 16-6-1 ATS in the last 23 meetings.
I'm staying away from the spread, as I don't know what to expect from two of the lesser teams in the WNBA right now. However, the Stars have been poor on the defensive end, which leads me to think this may be a breakout offensive game for the Storm. I'm siding with the over in this spot.
