The Chicago Bulls travel to the Barclays Center to take on the Brooklyn Nets on NBA Wednesday.
The Bulls kicked off their season last night in impressive fashion, beating the Cavaliers by 97-95 thanks to 19 points from Nikola Mirotic, 18 points from Derrick Rose and 17 points from Jimmy Butler. Pau Gasol shot just 1 for 7 from the field and scored just two points, but he came up big in the waning seconds of the game when he blocked the potential game-tying layup from the LeBron James to secure the win. As expected, Joakim Noah started the game off the bench and played 17 minutes without scoring, but still contributed with nine rebounds and four assists.

Meanwhile, the Nets will be eager to get their season off to a winning start after their first-round playoff exit to the Hawks last season. Deron Williams and Kevin Garnett are no longer with the team and it seems like the Nets are in rebuild mode, especially with Joe Johnson playing in the final season of his six-year contract. Brook Lopez will once again be the focus of the attack and he should be able to improve on last season's averages of 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds, especially since the Nets have little depth on the bench.
In ATS trends, the Bulls are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest, while the Nets are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against the Eastern Conference.
Head to head, the Bulls are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Brooklyn.
The Bulls were far from fluent in last night's impressive win over the Cavs but they showed me enough to think they can improve to 2-0 when it's all said and done against this new-look Nets outfit.
