Pacers-Pistons: Speaking of first wins of the season, the Pacers got theirs last night against the Pistons in Auburn Hills. It was Detroit’s first loss of the year.
Rodney Stuckey came up with 23 points in the 94-82 victory; Indiana outscored the Pistons 43-2 off the bench.
Andre Drummond put up 25 points and 29 rebounds, which is a career high for him. He has back-to-back 20/20 games, the first time that’s happened to a Piston since at least 1985.
Hawks-Heat: Jeff Teague had an active night in Miami against the Heat, leading the Hawks to a 98-92 victory. Teague scored 26 points and dished out nine assists. Al Horford helped out with 17 points.
The Hawks got into some trouble late after wasting away a 15-point lead, but they went on to get their fourth straight victory after losing on opening night.
Nuggets-Lakers: There are quite a few problems afoot in Los Angeles, as evidenced by the Nuggets’ dominant 120-109 victory last night.
Kenneth Faried put up 28 points and 15 rebounds, while Danilo Gallinari bagged 21 points against the winless Lakers.
As for Lakers great Kobe Bryant, he continued to struggle, putting up just 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting. He’s been mired in a vicious slump to start the season.
