The Sacramento Kings travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat tonight.
The Kings were on a bit of a roll with three straight wins before slipping in a 103-97 defeat at Atlanta last night. DeMarcus Cousins had a nice game of 24 points and 12 rebounds while Rajon Rondo compiled a triple-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, but it still wasn't enough against the Hawks who were without their starting point guard in Jeff Teague. Defensively, the Kings did a nice job of holding the Hawks to just 42.7 percent shooting from the field, but they couldn't keep a lid on Paul Millsap who hurt them with 23 points and 16 rebounds, six of which were on the offensive glass. It was a close game that went right down to the wire and the Kings just couldn't get it done, dropping them to 4-8 on the season and 0-3 on the road.

Just like the Kings, the Heat were on a three-game win streak of their own before falling to the Timberwolves in a 103-91 defeat on Tuesday. Hassan Whiteside had a monster triple-double of 22 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks, Luol Deng added 20 points and Goran Dragic had 16 points, but it still wasn't enough to get past the Wolves who shot just 37.1 percent from the field. The problem was that the Heat shot just 5 of 24 from 3-point range, 14 for 30 from the charity stripe and they committed 22 turnovers as a team. With the loss, Miami drops to 6-4 on the season and 5-2 at home.
In ATS trends, the Kings are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record, while the Heat are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the Kings are 5-21 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall and 2-11 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Miami.
This seems like a pretty even matchup on paper, but the Heat have been much more dependable this season and should be able to take advantage of a Kings team who will be playing on the road on zero days rest.
