The Boston Celtics travel to the AmericanAirlines Arena to battle the Miami Heat tonight.
The Celtics were going for a third straight win last night, but fell flat on their face in a 110-91 loss at Orlando last night. Isaiah Thomas led the team with 20 points and seven assists while Avery Bradley had 17 points, but the Celtics once again showed how inconsistent they can be, losing by 19 points after winning by a season-best 33 points on Friday. Of course you can point the finger at the players who aren't performing on a nightly basis, but coach Brad Stevens has been experimenting with different rotations all season which doesn't allow for continuity. With the loss, Boston falls to 9-8 on the season and 3-4 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Heat have been one of the most consistent teams lately with seven wins in their last nine games including a 97-78 blowout win at New York on Friday. Gerald Green made four 3-pointers to lead the Heat with 25 points, Chris Bosh added 20 points and Dwyane Wade chipped in with 17 as the Heat battle with the Knicks for the first half, before dominating in a 47-29 second half to improve to 10-5 on the season and 2-3 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Celtics are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record, while the Heat are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Celtics are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Miami and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
You never know what you're going to get from the Celtics because they have been hot and cold all season. In this matchup, I prefer a play on the Heat to win this one at home where they've won six of their last seven.
