Following yesterday’s Christmas Day games, the rest of the league will be getting going today with a packed 13-game schedule. While we’re waiting on those games, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats in the news this morning.

Bulls-Thunder: The Bulls were able to get back on track yesterday with a big Christmas win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
Jimmy Butler put up 23 points in the 105-96 win, while Pau Gasol doubled up on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Taj Gibson had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Derrick Rose added 19 points.
The Bulls out-rebounded the Thunder 53-48, which was key to their success. The victory halted a string of three losses.

Cavaliers-Warriors: NBA fans were treated to a Christmas present by the league yesterday, as the Warriors and Cavaliers squared off in Oakland in a Finals rematch.
The Warriors got an 89-83 victory in this one, even though their 3-point game wasn’t quite where they wanted it to be.
Draymond Green put up 22 points with 15 rebounds, with Stephen Curry logging 19 points and Klay Thompson adding 18. They’re now 28-1 on the season and have won 32 straight regular-season home games.
On the other side, LeBron James put up 25 points in the losing effort.

Rockets-Spurs: The Rockets turned in a stellar defensive effort yesterday, and it ended with a huge win over the Spurs 88-84, halting San Antonio’s 7-game win streak.
James Harden logged 20 points here as his team held the Spurs to a season-low in points.
Kawhi Leonard managed a team-leading 20 points for San Antonio, who was just 5-of-19 from 3-point range.

Clippers-Lakers: Kobe Bryant’s farewell tour continued last night in Los Angeles against the Clippers, as the Lakers veteran played his final Christmas game.
The Clippers were up by 28 points late here, but withstood a furious rally by the Lakers for a 94-84 win.
Chris Paul had 23 points and six assists, while Bryant managed 12 points in his NBA-record 16th Christmas Day game.
Bryant sat out the fourth quarter, watching as his team outscored the Clips 27-9.
