The Washington Wizards play host to the Miami Heat tonight at the Verizon Center.
The Heat have split their last eight games but looked as good as ever in Friday's 106-82 win over the Mavericks at home. Hassan Whiteside led the offense with 25 points and 19 rebounds, Gerald Green added 19 points off the bench while Chris Bosh had 16 points as the Heat shot 56 percent from the field to easily beat the Mavericks and improve to 19-13 on the season and 14-7 at home. Dwyane Wade was missing from the starting lineup as he was dealing with flu-like symptoms, but he still managed to contribute 10 points and seven assists in 19 minutes off the bench.

Meanwhile, the Wizards have won five of their last seven games and are coming off a 103-91 win over the Magic on Friday. John Wall led the team with 24 points and 13 assists, Otto Porter Jr. added 20 points while four other players finished in double figures as the Wizards broke away from a close contest with a dominant 31-19 fourth quarter. Washington now play their next three games at home where they're 8-8 on the season, but they will be tested as the Cavaliers and the Raptors will visit during the week after tonight's matchup with the Heat.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games following a win of more than 10 points, while the Wizards are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Heat are 19-7-1 ATS in the last 27 meetings in Washington and the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall.
The Wizards have shown plenty of improvement lately, but the Heat looked to be in mid-season form in their last win and I'm expecting them to be leaving the nation's capital with a solid win tonight.
