January 21, 2016
After a very busy 11-game set last night, the NBA is back again with five more matchups for us this evening. Before we get into that, let’s check out what’s happening in the headlines today.
Sixers-Magic: Anytime the Sixers win a game, it’s headline news. They’re winning more these days, however, and that happened last night against the Magic.
Philly put up a 96-87 win in Orlando, highlighted by Jahlil Okafor’s 20 points. Ish Smith logged a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists.
Nerlens Noel (migraine) and JaKarr Sampson (hip) went down with injuries in the first half, however.

Cavs-Nets: The Cavaliers were coming off an embarrassing loss to the Warriors, but were able to bounce back against the Nets last night in New York.
Kevin Love posted 17 points and 18 rebounds in a 91-78 victory, while LeBron James chipped in on 17 points. Neither player had to get on the court in the fourth quarter.
Cleveland was destroyed 132-98 on Monday against Golden State, but had little trouble here, leading by 23 at one point in the second half.
Warriors-Bulls: Speaking of the Warriors, they wrecked the Bulls yesterday at United Center. The defending champs cruised to a 125-94 win, with Stephen Curry logging 25 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Klay Thompson had 20 points and Harrison Barnes had 19. As the season winds down, all eyes will be on the Bay Area as we see if they can eclipse the Bulls’ record of 72 wins from back in 1995-96.
Jazz-Knicks: We had a real classic at the Garden last night, filled with ups, downs and an overtime.
New York overcame Utah 118-111 after Gordon Hayward sent it to overtime with a trio of free throws with 2.4 seconds left.
Robin Lopez was great here, with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony had 30 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. The Knicks trailed by eight entering the fourth quarter.
