January 27, 2016
We’ve got a pretty good NBA schedule coming up tonight, so us basketball fans will have a lot to do. In the meantime, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats out there in the news.
Clippers-Pacers: The Clippers have been in the news for some less-than-flattering reasons over the past day, but they were able to snag a win last night over the Pacers in Indy.
Chris Paul put up 19 of his 26 points in the second half in the 91-89 victory, while J.J. Redick had 19 of his own.
Blake Griffin was home recovering from a broken hand, suffered after punching the team’s equipment manager. He’ll miss 4-6 weeks.

Heat-Nets: The Heat and Nets combined for a pretty engaging game last night in New York, with Miami coming out on top 102-98. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade had 27 points apiece, combining for their team’s final dozen points.
On the other side, Andrea Bargnani had 20 points and Joe Johnson had 15 in the losing effort.
Thunder-Knicks: After a 38-34 opening quarter, the Thunder and Knicks were off to the races. OKC ended up taking this one 128-122 in overtime, outscoring New York 15-9 in the extra period.
Kevin Durant was all over the place in this one, scoring a season-high 44 points with 14 rebounds. He scored seven points in overtime. Russell Westbrook would log 30 points with 10 assists and eight boards.
The Knicks were without Carmelo Anthony here. He was out with soreness in his knee.
Lakers-Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki’s still got it. He nailed a tiebreaking jumper late in the game against the Lakers, propelling the Mavs to a 92-90 win. He had 13 points all together, with eight in the fourth quarter.
J.J. Barea had 18 points to lead the team, while Chandler Parsons had 17. The victory halted a two-game losing skid for the Mavericks.
