The Los Angeles Lakers pay a visit to the New Orleans Pelicans tonight at the Smoothie King Center.
The Lakers were able to snap a 10-game losing streak with a 119-115 win over the Timberwolves on Tuesday. Louis Williams had a nice game of 20 points, D'Angelo Russell added 18 points off the bench while Jordan Clarkson had 16 points, but this win was all about Kobe Bryant who connected on seven of 11 three-point attempts to finish with a season-high 38 points. Thanks to the throwback performance from Kobe, Los Angeles improves to 10-41 on the season and 6-18 at home.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans will be looking to snap a two-game skid after falling to the Spurs by 110-97 last night. Anthony Davis filled the box score with 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, four steals and four blocks while Jrue Holiday added 20 points and five assists off the bench, but while the Pelicans competed well with the Spurs for three quarters, the Pelicans just faded in a 27-18 fourth quarter dominated by the league's second best team. With the loss, New Orleans falls to 18-30 on the season and 5-19 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team below .400 and 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games following a win, while the Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
The Lakers' win on Tuesday really threw a spanner in the works as this would usually be an automatic pick against the Lakers, but now I'm leaning towards LA and the points. The Pelicans should really win this one and win it easily, but I think the Lakers will hang around and earn the backdoor cover in the end.
