The Los Angeles Lakers pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Lakers have suddenly stumbled on a rich vein of form and were actually gunning for a third straight win after losing 10 straight, but they ran into a red-hot Spurs outfit and lost by 106-102 on Saturday. Kobe Bryant led the team in scoring with 25 points but shot nine of 28 from the field, Jordan Clarkson added 21 points while Julius Randle had 15 points and 17 rebounds, but it still wasn't enough against the Spurs who were riding a three-game win streak. Despite the loss, it was somewhat of a moral victory for the Lakers as the Spurs had been crushing teams by double digits, so it was a nice send-off for Kobe who played his last game at San Antonio.

Meanwhile, the Pacers have won four of their last six games and looked good in Saturday's 112-104 home win over the Pistons. Paul George poured in a game-high 30 points, George Hill added 17 points and Myles Turner had 16 as the held off a late rally from the Pistons to hold on for a solid win at home. The Pacers had to resort to intentionally fouling the Pistons' Andre Drummond late in the game and it turned out to be a winning tactic as he missed five consecutive misses. With the win, Indiana improves to 27-24 overall and 16-8 at home.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven against the Eastern Conference, while the Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last six against the Western Conference.
Head to head, the Lakers are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the home team is 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings.
The Pacers are clearly the team in better form and they're certainly more reliable from a betting standpoint, but the Lakers have sprung to life in their last three games and really played well in their loss to the Spurs on Saturday, so I'm taking LA with the points in what could be a closer game than it should be.
