NBA Player Updates 2/19: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
February 19, 2016
The NBA is finally going again after a long All-Star break. There’s plenty to talk about this morning, so let’s take our daily look at some of the notable happenings out there while we’re waiting for tonight’s heavy slate of games.
Wizards-Jazz: Last night’s NBA return started out with a Washington-Utah matchup that ended on a 103-89 Wizards victory.
Marcin Gortat posted 22 points and 10 rebounds here, and John Wall also doubled up on 17 points and 11 assists.
This game was rescheduled from late last month (snowstorm) and marked the team’s first game back from the break. It was also their first game after the trade for disgruntled ex-Sun Markieff Morris.

Cavaliers-Bulls: The Cavaliers dealt popular big man Anderson Varejao yesterday at the deadline, so there wasn’t the usual boisterous atmosphere in the locker room after their 106-95 win over the Bulls last night in Cleveland.
LeBron James posted 25 points with nine rebounds and nine assists, while Kevin Love had 15 points and 15 rebounds of his own.
In the Varejao deal, the Cavaliers got Channing Frye from Orlando in a three-team trade. They’re hoping Frye can help put them over the top for an NBA championship.
Spurs-Clippers: The Clippers put in an emotional victory last night in L.A. against the Spurs, snagging a 105-86 victory coming out of the All-Star break.
Chris Paul had 28 points and 12 assists in a game that took place just hours after he attended the funeral of Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams’ wife Ingrid.
The Clippers had a 20-point lead in this one, but San Antonio clawed back to within five before L.A. pulled away for good.
NBA Daily Schedule: Here’s a look at the league’s daily schedule. Let’s check out the matchups, times and channels where you can find all the action.
