The Dallas Mavericks play host to the lowly Philadelphia 76ers tonight at the American Airlines Center.
The Mavericks are long overdue for a win as they've lost five of their last six games and they'll want to bounce back from a disappointing 110-104 overtime loss at Orlando. Deron Williams led hte offense with 25 points and seven assists, Chandler Parsons added 24 points while the Mavs sunk a franchise-best 19 three-pointers but it still wasn't enough to get past the Magic who dominated the fourth quarter and overtime by a combined 38-23. WIth the disappointing loss, Dallas falls to 29-27 on the season which is good enough for sixth place in the Western standings, but has them just one game ahead of the ninth-placed Jazz team.

Meanwhile, the 76ers are mired at the bottom of the league with a record of just 8-46 on the season and that record doesn't look likely to improve tonight as they've lost seven of their last eight games including their last three straight. In the team's last outing against the Pelicans, Nerlens Noel scored 24 points, Robert Covington added 15 points while Jahlil Okafor had 14, but the Sixers just didn't have an answer for the Pelicans on defense as they went to the free throw line with regularity where they connected on 32 of 40 attempts. In the end, it wasn't such a bad loss as another blowout was on the cards after the Sixers fell behind by double digits early, but the Pelicans were much too good on this night.
In ATS trends, the 76ers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss, while the Mavs are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the 76ers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall but the home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.
You never feel too confident putting of your hard-earned cash on the Sixers, but they've been covering lately and should cover against this Mavs team in a major slump. Take Philadelphia to stick around and get the sneaky cover at the end.
