The New Orleans Pelicans and the Charlotte Hornets collide tonight at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Pelicans have lost five of their last seven games but were able to snap a four-game losing streak with a hard-fought 115-112 win over the Kings on Monday. Anthony Davis dominated the game with 31 points on 13 of 21 shooting and he had plenty of support as Norris Cole added 23 points, Jrue Holiday had 20 points and Ryan Anderson had 19 points off the bench as the Pelicans rallied in a dominant 65-49 second half. With the loss, New Orleans improves to 24-38 on the season but remain outside of the playoff picture as they are still 7.5 games out of the eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Hornets have been playing their best basketball of the season lately, winning 12 of their last 15 games including their last four straight. On Monday against the Timberwolves, Kemba Walker poured in a game-high 34 points, Al Jefferson added 20 points while Marvin Williams had 15 as the Hornets outlasted the Timberwolves in a close contest at home. With the win, Charlotte improves to 34-28 on the season which moves them to within just half a game of Atlanta who currently occupy the fifth overall spot in the Eastern Conference.
In ATS trends, the Pelicans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a win and 1-4 ATS in their last five against the Eastern Conference, while the Hornets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team below .400 and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 5-1-1 ATS int he last seven meetings overall but the Pelicans are 16-6-1 ATS in the lsat 23 meetings.
The Pelicans were able to stop the rot with a hard-fought win in their last outing, but they've been far too inconsistent lately and that's been the story of their season. Looking at this game, the Pelicans could easily pull off the upset, but I'm sticking with the in-form Hornets who need this win a lot more.
