March 14, 2016
The NBA is back this evening with a nice-looking schedule of games, so there will be plenty for us basketball fans to check out. That said, let’s visit some of the notable stats in the news and see what everyone’s talking about.
Cavs-Clippers: Yesterday’s Cleveland-Los Angeles matchup featured a long-range barrage from the Cavaliers. The result was a 114-90 victory, and a tied season-high with 18 mad 3-pointers from Cleveland.
LeBron James put up 27 points here, and his team followed their earlier script of long-range shooting that carried them to a 12-point win over the Lakers three days before.
The Cavs are 7-2 against the Clippers at Staples Center since 2006-07.

Jazz-Kings: The Jazz were able to overcome the Kings in Sacramento yesterday 108-99, thanks to 28 points and 14 rebounds from Derrick Favors. Gordon Hayward also scored 27 here, while Utah never trailed in this game.
The Jazz have now won two straight games following a 114-93 win over the Wizards on Friday and stand at 31-35 on the season. They had lost nine of 12 coming out of the All-Star break but appear to have righted the ship.
Bucks-Nets: Over in Brooklyn, Giannis Antetokounmpo bagged his fourth triple-double in just the past 11 games last night, helping his team to a 109-100 victory.
Antetokounmpo had 28 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds (getting most of his boards and dimes before halftime) and is now the first Bucks player with four triple-doubles in a season. All have come since February 22nd.
Jabari Parker put up 23 points in the victory, which was Milwaukee’s third straight.
Knicks-Lakers: Two of the league’s most storied franchises faced off last night in L.A., with the Knicks coming out on top 90-87 on the strength of PG Jose Calderon’s last-second 3-pointer. It was his only three of the game.
Carmelo Anthony put up 26 points here, with 12 coming in the fourth quarter. He also added 12 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant put up 14 points in the game, which was his 29th meeting with Anthony--and also his last.
