The Denver Nuggets invade the Quicken Loans Arena to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
The Nuggets haven't been in the best of form as they have split their last 12 games, but they were able to avoid a fourth straight loss with a 101-93 win at Charlotte on Saturday. DJ Augustin had a massive game of 24 points in just 23 minutes off the bench, Gary Harris added 13 points and four assists while Nikola Jokic had a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds as the Nuggets dominated the first half by 57-40, allowing them to cruise in the second half to an easy victory. With the win, Denver improved to 29-41 on the season which is still 5.5 games out of the eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have won five of their last seven games but they'll be licking their wounds after getting thumped at Miami by 122-101 on in an upset on Saturday. LeBron James led the scoring with 26 points on 13 of 20 shooting while Richard Jefferson added 20 points on seven of 10 shooting off the bench, but the problem was on the defensive end where the Cavs just didn't seem switched on, allowing the Heat to shoot 55 percent from the field and 11 of 19 from the 3-point line. Kyrie Irving had just 14 points while Kevin Love added just seven as the Cavs slumped to one of their worst losses of the season to fall to 49-20 overall which means their lead over second-placed Toronto is reduced to just 1.5 games.
In ATS trends, the Nuggets are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record, while the Cavs are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Cleveland.
Ther Cavs will be eager to bounce back from their disappointing loss to the Heat in their last outing and they really shouldn't have to much trouble tonight, but I think the Nuggets will hang around and come out with the backdoor cover in this one.
