The Charlotte Hornets and the Detroit Pistons do battle at The Palace on Friday night.
The Hornets have won 11 of their last 13 games and will be aiming for a third straight win tonight after their 105-100 win at Brooklyn on Tuesday. Nicolas Batum led the charge with 23 points while Jeremy Lin added 21 points and four assists off the bench as the Hornets survived a late scare from the Nets to come out with the narrow win on the road. Marvin Williams missed the game with a sprained left ankle while Kemba Walker continued his mini slump, scoring just 14 points on four of 14 shooting after scoring just six points on Monday. Charlotte is now 41-30 on the season which is currently good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Pistons will be gunning for a fifth straight win tonight after cruising past the Magic in a 118-102 win on Wednesday. Andre Drummond dominated the paint with 30 points and 14 rebounds, Tobias Harris added 18 points while Reggie Jackson had 16 points and nine assists as the Pistons made light work of the slumping Magic. With the win, Detroit improves to 38-34 on the season which pushes them into the playoff picture with eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
In ATS trends, the Hornets are 4-1 ATS in their last five against a team with a winning record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games, while the Pistons are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Head to head, the Hornets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Detroit.
The Pistons have won four straight at home but all four wins have come against teams bound for the upcoming lottery, so I'm going to have to side with the Hornets in this one as they've been one of the hottest teams in the East for about a month now.
