The Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets do battle in a pivotal Game 3 today at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Heat didn't come into the playoffs with a ton of momentum, but they've been one of the most impressive teams in the playoffs so far and it's hard to think they won't sweep the Hornets in this series after winning both Game 1 and Game 2 by double digits. Dwyane Wade poured in 28 points with eight assists, Goran Dragic added 18 points, Hassan Whiteside had 17 points while Luol Deng and Josh Richardson chipped in with 16 and 15 points respectively as the Heat poured on 72 points in the first half of Game 2 to set up an easy 115-103 win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Kemba Walker poured in a game-high 29 points for the Hornets while Al Jefferson added 25 points on 12 of 17 shooting off the bench, but they needed more scoring help from their role players. Nicolas Batum scored just nine points on three of 11 shooting while Marvin Williams missed all 10 of his field goal attempts to finish the game scoreless so with the series on the line, coach Steve Clifford might be forced to shake up the starting lineup and maybe bring someone off the bench like Jefferson or Jeremy Lin.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 4-0 ATS in their last four Conference Quarterfinals games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Hornets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four Conference Quarterfinals games.
Head to head, the Heat are 16-7-1 ATS in the last 24 meetings overall and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Charlotte.
I really want the Hornets to get it together and make it a series with a hard-fought win tonight, but their playoff inexperience is evident and I just can't see the Heat letting a game slip after what they've already shown in the first two games of the series.
