The Dallas Mavericks play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a pivotal Game 4 at the American Airlines Center tonight.
The Mavericks really did a great job of stealing Game 2 to add drama to a one-sided matchup, but they fell back to earth with a 131-102 loss to the Thunder in Game 3 on Thursday. Wesley Matthews led the team with a nice game of 22 points, Raymond Felton added 18 points, Dirk Nowitzki had 16 while JJ Barea chipped in with 15 points and seven assists, but the Mavs just couldn't contain the Thunder, especially in the second half where they were outscored by 73-54. Dallas did a great job of slowing the game down and forcing the Thunder into playing a half-court game at their pace, but that just wasn't the case as the Thunder were allowed to run rampant and dominate with their speed and athleticism in the open court.

Meanwhile, the Thunder will be delighted with their performance in Game 3, especially Kevin Durant who poured in a game-high 34 points on 11 of 25 shooting to bounce back from his miserable Game 2 performance where he shot seven of 33 for 21 points. Russell Westbrook steered the offense with 26 points and 15 assists, Enes Kanter added 21 points while Dion Waiters had 19 as the Thunder shot a sizzling 57.7 percent from the field and 15 of 27 from the 3-point line.
In ATS trends, the Thunder are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Mavs are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games.
Head to head, the Thunder are 15-6-1 ATS in the last 22 meetings in Dallas and the road team is 37-17-2 ATS in the last 56 meetings overall.
The series is all but over for the Mavs unless they can pull off the upset tonight but I just don't see that happening at all. The Mavs did a great job of making it a series with the upset in Game 2, but the Thunder found their groove in Game 3 and I expect them to dominate once again. Take OKC to win this one by double digits behind another big scoring night from Durant.
