The Dallas Wings and Indiana Fever open the season Saturday afternoon at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Dallas Wings move from Tulsa and hope that they can just stay healthy as they look for a bounce back season. Led by a healthy Skylar Diggins and Odyssey Sims, the Wings have a very strong backcourt that’s capable of taking over games any night. Plenette Pierson and Karima Christmas were also double-digit scorers last season for a team that had three players with more than 30 threes made. The Dallas Wings have the talent in place to be a contender in the West this season, it all comes down to health and improved play on the defensive end. Including preseason, the Wings have allowed 80-plus points in five of their last six games.

The Indiana Fever hope to have similar success after making the WNBA Finals last season. The Fever will once again be led by veteran Tamika Catchings, who continues to play at a high level and averaged 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds last season. The Fever have two double-digit scorers in Shenise Johnson and Marissa Coleman, a tandem that combined for 73 threes made. The Fever are a tough minded team that has now tasted success on the big stage and would like to take things to the next level this season. With Catchings leading the charge, another deep run this season could be in store for the Fever. The Indiana Fever have won 10 of their last 12 regular season home games.
The Wings have the talent in place to get the road victory here, but the Fever are extremely tough on their home court as we saw last season. Indiana doesn't lose often at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. With this being the season opener, I expect a packed house as well.
Give me the Fever and the small line.
