The Line: Los Angeles Sparks -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Seattle Storm and Los Angeles Sparks open their 2016 season Sunday afternoon at the Staples Center.
The Seattle Storm continue to try and take steps forward after winning a combined 22 games the last two seasons. The Storm struggled to get consistent production on the offensive end and scored 67 or less points in four of their last five games. The good news for the Storm is that they return their three double-digit scorers from last year in Crystal Langhorne, Jewell Loyd and Sue Bird. While that trio will be asked to carry the load again, Seattle added a key player in the draft in Breanna Stewart, former UConn Huskie who won four titles in four years. The Seattle Storm have a few interesting pieces this season and could have a bounce back season.

The Los Angeles Sparks have made the playoffs four straight seasons and enter 2016 as a dark horse in the West. The one thing that will help the Sparks is having a full season of Candace Parker, who flirted with triple doubles most of the time in just 16 games. Nneka Ogwumike has proven she’s one of the better two-way players in the league and Jantel Lavender is a force on the glass. Kristi Toliver is also a knockdown shooter from deep and the Sparks fourth double-digit scorer. The Los Angeles Sparks have a lot of intriguing talent, and they’re more than capable of making a serious run this season if they can remain healthy.
There's no line at the time I published this article, but the Sparks should win this game by double digits. The Storm are way too inconsistent on the offensive end and will struggle big time with the firepower Los Angeles has. I'm very high on the Sparks this season now that they're healthy and have four players who can score at will as well as crash the glass.
Sparks roll big here in their home opener.
