The Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers in game seven with the NBA title up for grabs.
I think the Golden State Warriors were a bit shellshocked when they faced a 31-11 first quarter deficit and in my view that set the tone for the remainder of the game in a 115-101 defeat in game six. The Warriors had their chances late when they cut the Cavs lead ton single digits but when Stephen Curry fouled out this was definitely heading to a game seven. Curry poured in a team high 30points and was 6-13 on threes but the Warriors were 15-39 from long range and that won’t cut it for their style of play. Klay Thompson followed with 25 points and Leandros Barbosa was the only other double digit scorer as the Golden State bench was unable to make a difference.

The Cleveland Cavaliers can be a part of history as they can come back from a 3-1 series hole to win the NBA championship on Sunday. The explosive first quarter had Golden State swimming against the current the entire contest and when the final buzzer sounded the GSW had nothing left in the tank. LeBron was LeBron with a game high 41 points, eight boards and eleven assists but he had help with Kyrie Irving adding 23 points while Tristan Thompson and JR Smith adding 15 points and 14 points respectively with Thompson hauling in a game high 16 rebounds. The Cavs led the shooting battle 52%-40% and have plenty of momentum after being left for dead after game four.
Throw the trends out the window as the high flying, three point shooting Warriors and the more blue collar Cavaliers have reached a decisive game seven with each showing why they are in the championship. I like the style of play of the Cavaliers and the energy and momentum they now have and I have to think they bring everything to game seven and possibly win it…
