Croatia hopes to build on its solid and impressive 2-1 start to the tournament. In the 80-76 win over Brazil, Croatia shot 51.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Croatia allowed 41.2 percent shooting from the field and 38.5 percent shooting from deep. Croatia has scored a combined 162 points in its last two games and is getting consistent scoring from a lot of guys on its roster right now. Croatia’s only loss was an eight-point game against a very talented and experienced Argentine club.

Nigeria is still looking for its first victory after a rough 0-3 start to the tournament. In the 96-87 loss to Spain, Nigeria shot 46 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from beyond the arc. Nigeria allowed 48.5 percent shooting from the field and 34.6 percent shooting from deep. Chamberlain Oguchi led the way with 24 points and four assists while Josh Akognon had 12 points and five rebounds. Ekene Ibekwe was the third double-digit scorer and Ike Diogu grabbed seven rebounds. Nigeria has yet to win a game, but it’s contest against Spain showed just how promising this team is and how good it could be in the future. Nigeria won’t do much this tournament, but there’s clear talent and is building something solid.
Croatia has been very impressive this tournament and has depth on the offensive end that should be able to take care of Nigeria without much trouble. I really like the direction Nigeria is moving and think this team could be solid in a couple of years, but Croatia is too polished at this point to lose here.
Give me Croatia by a comfrtable margin.
