Spain and Lithuania meet Saturday in their fourth match of the men’s basketball tournament in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Spain needs to build on their first win if they hope to advance to the quarterfinals. In the 96-87 victory over Nigeria, Spain shot 48.5 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc. Spain allowed 46 percent shooting from the field and 37.1 percent shooting from deep. Pau Gasol led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds while Ricky Rubio had 15 points and four assists. Rudy Fernández was the third double-digit scorer and Felipe Reyes grabbed nine rebounds. We all know Spain is one of the more talented teams in the field and has medal potential. Still, Spain lost its first two games and didn’t exactly blowout Nigeria. It’ll be interesting to see which Spain team shows up here.

Lithuania looks to keep rolling after an impressive 3-0 start to the tournament. In the 81-73 victory over Argentina, Lithuania shot 44.6 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from beyond the arc. Lithuania allowed 37.9 percent shooting from the field and 26.9 percent shooting from deep. Mindaugas Kuzminskas led the way with 22 points and five rebounds while Mantas Kalnietis had 17 points and seven assists. Jonas Mačiulis was the third double-digit scorer and Jonas Valančiūnas had 10 rebounds. Lithuania looks like the clear team to beat in group B and has been absolutely dominating the glass with its size and physicality. Lithuania has scored no less than 81 points in each of its three games and seems to be gaining confidence by the quarter.
This should be a hell of a game between two solid clubs with above-average talent. Spain is more need of a victory, but I'm not sure anybody can pick against Lithuania with the way it's played through the first three games. Even in victory, Spain hasn't played all that great.
Give me Lithuania in another victory.
