China and Serbia meet Sunday in their fifth match of the men’s basketball tournament in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
China is the only team in group A that is still searching for a victory. In the 93-68 loss to Australia, China shot 48.9 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from beyond the arc. China allowed 56.1 percent shooting from the field and 38.9 percent shooting from deep. Yi Jianlian led the way with 20 points and nine rebounds while Guo Ailun had 11 points and five assists. Zhao Jiwei dished four assists and Wang Zhelin grabbed three rebounds. China continues to show that it’s many years away from competing with teams on this level. China just doesn’t have the athleticism or firepower to keep up with some of the better teams in international play.

Serbia also could use a big victory after a rough 1-3 record in tournament play. In the 94-91 loss to the United States, Serbia shot 51.7 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. Serbia allowed 49.1 percent shooting from the field and 35 percent shooting from deep. Nikola Jokić led the way with 25 points and six rebounds while Miloš Teodosić had 18 points and six assists. Miroslav Raduljica was the third double-digit scorer and Stefan Marković dished four assists. Despite the poor record, Serbia lost to the best team in the world by one possession. Serbia has now lost its last two games by a combined four points, so it’s a club that should be fairly confident right now.
Serbia has done more than prove itself and could easily have three wins rather than three losses with a couple of bounces going its way. Meanwhile, China has been outplayed all tournament and doesn't have the firepower to improve its play at the moment. This game could get ugly.
Give me Serbia in a blowout.
