Serbia would make its first olympic gold medal game since 1996 with a victory. In the 86-83 victory over Croatia, Serbia shot 40.8 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc. Serbia allowed 45.1 percent shooting from the field and 36.8 percent shooting from deep. Bogdan Bogdanović led the way with 18 points and five assists while Stefan Marković had 12 points and four rebounds. Miroslav Raduljica was the third double-digit scorer and Miloš Teodosić dished 10 assists. Serbia continues to flex its muscle defensively and has given up just 143 points in its last two games. If Serbia brings the same defensive intensity in this contest, it has to like its chances of advancing.
These two teams met in the second game of the tournament and Australia won by 15 points. While Serbia has improved its play since, there's no denying that Australia has shown it's the most consistent team in the tournament and is hungry for its first olympic medal. Also, Australia wants another shot at the US.
Australia should win this game.
